Escaping the hustle and bustle of the city at Moseley secret park and pool

Moseley secret park and pools is a tucked away gem nestled in the lively and bohemian Village of Moseley (a quick hop on the bus from the centre of Birmingham). When the sun is out there is nothing better than to grab a picnic, a good read and laze in this secluded spot for hours on end, watching the world go by.

Secret by name, secret by nature, the park entrance is easily passable, reached via a path between two shop fronts on the Alcester Road. The sense of secrecy is heightened further as a special key is needed to get in. A park key can be secured for free for the day from Moseley Travel.

Once inside, meander along the windy paths leading through the park and around the lake. For two weekends of the year the sleepy spot is transformed into a hub of festivity and frolics, hosting the annual folk and jazz festival.

Moseley Park and Pool is a place for the community and all those who pass through Moseley to socialise and stroll, play and relax in a hidden oasis. It has upheld the same values since opening in 1899, being run by local people who give their time without charge for the general benefit of the neighbourhood. It’s my favourite place to escape the hustle and bustle.
